Does Railcard apply First Class?
Absolutely! You can save 1/3 of the ticket price of First Class tickets with any of the Railcards advertised on our website.
Can I buy a weekly train ticket without a photo card?
You will need to be able to produce a photocard to buy most Season Tickets. These are issued free of charge from staffed ticket offices and you must provide a recent passport-type photograph of yourself. Season Tickets held on a smartcard or other media may not require a Photocard.
Does a railcard count as a photocard?
Please note any form of railcard (including 16-25 Railcards) cannot be used as a Photocard. For your Season Ticket to be valid, you must show both your Season Ticket and photocard with matching numbers if requested by any rail staff.
Can you screenshot tickets on Trainline?
Hi Gary, a screenshot won’t be accepted & you’ll have to activate the tickets in order for them to be valid.
Can you use Railcard before 9am?
Yes you can. However, for all journeys made between 4:30am and 10:00am Monday to Friday a minimum fare of £12 is payable. There is no minimum fare when you travel at weekends, on Public Holidays, or during July and August.
Can I use my senior railcard before 9am?
When can I use my Railcard? Your Senior Railcard gets you 1/3 off Standard and First Class Anytime, Off-Peak and Advance fares. And because there’s no limit to the number of times you can use your Railcard, the potential for adventure is huge.
Can you smile on a railcard photo?
Yes, you will need to provide a suitable image for your disabled railcard when you apply. ❓ Can you smile on a railcard photo? Your expression needs to remain neutral in your photo. Your photo may be rejected if you smile.
Can I break my journey with a season ticket?
Just like a regular Season ticket, with a Flexi Season ticket you can make unlimited journeys between your To and From stations. You can also break, start or end your journey at any station on your permitted route.
Do I need to show my railcard on the train?
Yes. You must show your valid 16-25 Railcard (digital or plastic) when you buy your ticket and travel on the train. If you bought your Railcard at a station, both the paper printed Railcard and the photocard must be presented.
Can I use a different card to collect train tickets?
If you pay with Pay Pal you can normally collect the tickets using any card as the booking is not linked to a specific card. Some tickets that have been paid directly by credit / debit can be collected with any card, however this normally applies to company bookings.
Are online train tickets valid?
Yes your ticket is confirmed as is mentioned in the current status field. Berth details will be provided to you upon chart preparation which is usually done a few hours before train depart time.
Can you use Railcard before 10am?
Time restrictions Network Railcard discounts are not valid on tickets for travel before 10.00hrs, Monday to Friday (excluding public holidays). This time restriction applies to all types of tickets. You can use your Network Railcard to get discounts on tickets for travel at any time on weekends and public holidays.
