How far do almost golf balls go?
Almost golf balls are capable of flying around 30% of the distance of standard golf balls. So, if you can usually hit your drives around the 200-yard mark with a standard golf ball, you can expect them to go around 66 yards with an Almost golf ball.
Do almost golf balls work with skytrak?
Yes, you can and though they aren’t going to be quite as accurate as real golf balls, you should still be able to enjoy a decent simulated golf practice and work on your swing when you’re not able to get out on the course.
How do I make my OptiShot 2 more accurate?
ACCURACY DEPENDS ON PROPER LIGHTING. AVOID SUNLIGHT AND ALL OTHER SOURCES OF INFRARED LIGHT.
- OptiShot works best when used in a room with fluorescent lighting.
- Warehouse lighting such as Sodium Vapor or Metal Halide also work very well.
- Overhead light is generally better than light from the side of the room.
Does OptiShot 2 work outside?
Because OptiShot uses infrared sensors to provide key shot data and swing analysis, it should only be used indoors as the light from the sun causes inaccurate results.

How far do foam golf balls go?

Foam balls are ideal for indoor practice, but they can also be used outside in your backyard. You won’t need a whole lot of room. They fly quickly off the club face and can travel over 40 yards with longer clubs.
Can you use golf launch monitor with foam balls?
Yes, launch monitors do work with foam balls, but there are real limitations to the data that some monitors can produce. Foam balls are a great way to have a fun and safe golf simulator session, including with kids. They also allow you to minimise noise and test your simulator before completion.
Do you have to calibrate every club in OptiShot 2?
You only need to calibrate for those clubs such as the driver that might be returning very wild hooks or slices. Swing slowly. When you calibrate we save your calibrated swings and attach them to the club in the club set. On each step it validates each swing to make sure the calibration is good.
Do you have to use a tee with OptiShot?
You can choose to practice at a driving range, which is a good idea to get a feel for how the Optishot2 works. The mat has a plastic tee (replaceable) like you might find on a driving range, although you can hit off the turf or use your own tees if you like.
